About the Role
Chamber.Support ships chamber-of-commerce management software with a 24/7 AI chat assistant that runs on a local open-source model — no third-party API calls, no data leaving the chamber's infrastructure. You'll own the retrieval and deployment layer that makes that assistant useful per-chamber.
You'll work on local model serving (llama.cpp, Ollama, or similar), per-chamber document retrieval, and the onboarding flow that turns a chamber's PDFs and bylaws into grounded answers. The product promise is "no API keys, no outside calls" — that constraint shapes every technical decision.
Ideal candidate: has deployed local LLMs in production and gets excited (not frustrated) by the constraint of "no cloud AI".
Requirements
- Experience with Ollama, llama.cpp, or similar local model runtimes
- Laravel application experience
- Retrieval-augmented generation design
- Document ingestion pipelines (PDF, DOCX, HTML)
- Understanding of why data sovereignty matters to member organizations
- Bias toward simple, debuggable deployments
